Global warming, which is predicted to reach between 2 and 3 degrees Celsius until 2050 (IPCC scenarios) would shift transition zones between arid and humid regions. Land degradation, soil erosion and loss of primary productivity may than follow with significant environmental and societal implications. Climatic Gradients are regions of the highest sensitivity to Climate Changes and Anthropogenic Pressures. Study of these regions may help predicting future scenarios of EcoGeomorphic responses to Natural and Human induced processes. Remote sensing and spatial analysis and modeling are instrumental for these purposes. The different studies reported here were conducted along the North to South and West to East Mediterranean to arid gradients of Israel |
